Linda Paul, RN, PhD, CMSRN
Assistant Dean, Portland Undergraduate Programs

Dr. Paul has been teaching nursing at OHSU for the past 8 years.  She is currently the Assistant Dean of the Portland Undergraduate Program and the Program Director for the Wy’east Nursing Pathway.  Her teaching specialty is Adult Acute Care Nursing and her research interest involves strategies to improve self-management in youth with Type 1 diabetes.

Prior to coming to OHSU, Dr. Paul taught at Northern Arizona University (NAU) for 10 years where she spent each fall on the Navajo Reservation teaching medical-surgical nursing at NAU’s BSN American Indian Program.  In addition to teaching the medical-surgical content, Dr. Paul also took the students to Fort Defiance Indian Health Service (IHS) hospital and Chinle IHS hospital for clinicals.  Each spring, Dr. Paul took students to St. Michaels Association for Special Education in Fort Defiance where students had a pediatric rotation working with Native children and young adults with significant disabilities.  Many of Dr. Paul’s past students are now nurses in various IHS facilities throughout the Navajo Reservation.

Dr. Paul is excited to be part of the Wy’east Nursing Pathway and be part of a program that supports Native students in becoming the nurses of our future.
